We are approaching the end of Lent and moving into Holy Week. We have made the decision as a Benefice to remain online with our services over Easter and begin to open our churches in line with the national timetable.
We will resume morning prayer in our churches from this week. Tuesdays in Farrington Gurney, Wednesdays in Paulton and Thursdays in High Littleton. The churches will be open from 9.30am for quiet reflection and there will be morning prayer from 10am. Masks and social distancing will be in effect for these services.
We will remain online for Easter. There will be a video available for Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunrise. Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday will be live, with the choir singing on Easter Sunday.
I will also be making wooden rabbits to decorate the Church yards – I will send out the designs if anyone wants to join in making them.
We will open each church in sequence with a service and APCM where the main focus of discussion will be re-ordering of the buildings to make us fit for future growth.
High Littleton will open from the 16th of May at 9.30am (there will be a pre-recorded service available online this Sunday)
Farrinton will open from the 23rd of May at 9.30am (Pentecost) – (there will be a pre-recorded service available online this Sunday)
There will be a 9.30am service at High Littleton on the 30th of May and then Paulton will open at 11am (also online)
There will be lots of resources available online and as printed material for Easter, and we will be decorating the church yards with an Easter theme.
In the mean time you can access the week 5 & 6 Lent activities by clicking the banner below.
The new service book is now available to download here. This will take us all the way through to Easter Sunday.
Please make sure you share the service book with those who can’t access the online.
There are many resources available to help you with your spiritual life through each week, including the responses for Sunday if you are joining in on Zoom.
I would still like to encourage you all to join me with is in praying together for some specific points.
The readings for this week are taken from the Sunday Worship Survival Kit.
You are also welcome to join us for our weekly discussion groups where we dig a bit deeper into the readings and the sermon – Just email Adam and ask to join – Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night.
