Hi everyone,
HARVEST!!! It’s here. This Sunday is our Harvest Service in all three churches. High Littleton will have the first of its new family services at 10am, Paulton will be at 11am followed by a ‘bring and share’ lunch and Farrington will have its ‘Tea at 3’ service.
If you are bringing food to share at Paulton then please make sure you have an ingredients list for it.
As I said on Monday, our donations this year will be going to the Sisters of the Church ‘loaves and fishes’ project in St Paul’s Bristol. I used to volunteer in this independent foodbank whilst I was doing my training in Bristol and they would be very grateful for our donations.
Harvest celebrations continue on Saturday 12th October at 3pm with an entertaining afternoon of stories and songs from the world of opera and musicals led by Ian and Carole, our ‘Escape to the County Duo’. This will be followed by refreshments and a retiring collection which will benefit the Church Windows’ Fund after expenses have been taken. The programme promises to offer lots of fun,
Finally, we would like to invite you to the Benefice Skittles evening on Saturday 19th October at 7pm at the Red Lion. This is a free event though a £2 donation towards the chips is always appreciated.
Also, in Paulton, Would anyone from our congregations like to organise and run a stall at our Christmas bazaar 2-4pm on Saturday 7th December.
We currently have a stall of Christmas decorations, Mich's scribbles, a cake stall, Gina's fabrics, woollen products, reused items and second hand books. Any contributions to these stalls would be appreciated. However if you have a business and would like your own stall we have a few vacant tables. There is no charge (though donations to the Church are always appreciated). Please leave a message with you name and a brief stall description on 07891627041 ASAP, before we offer an open invitation to anyone in the village.
If you want to continue tracking with some of the sermon ideas as they develop I have included some more links to useful content that can help to keep us on the same 'wavelength'. This week, a link to a second book on meditation:
Movements that Matter: How Martial Arts Studies Can Reframe the Ethics of First-Blush Empathy
Wes Streeting: leading interview

See all below for all the other details of our groups and upcoming events.
Next Sunday we will be meeting all together at 10am in High Littleton, 11am in Paulton, and 3pm in Farrington Gurney
If you want to access resources in the meantime, we have a wealth of materials available.
You can use the YouTube link to get yourself tuned up and ready to sing with us on Sunday.
If you don't feel able to attend in person, we will continue to provide online worship options as well. The link to Twitch is at the bottom of this email.
Knit and Natter meet in the back room of Paulton church on the first Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4pm. The next meeting is on Wednesday 6 th November 2024.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join the group, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake and have a good natter!
TGIF is on every Friday and Monday from 10am to 11.30am for coffee, cake, playtime and good chatting - you can find the latest details on Facebook here. (Not during the school holidays)
Morning prayer is taking place at 9.30am Wednesday in Paulton and Thursday in High Littleton. It begins with 15 minutes of quiet reflection, followed by Common Worship morning prayer.
The Church of England have updated their Morning Prayer APP. You can now listen to morning prayer from the app. I would encourage you all to take this up as a daily practice, it is a great way to grow a pattern of prayer and learn the rhythm of responses each day.
You can download the app here: https://www.chpublishing.co.uk/apps/daily-prayer
view the live service and re-watch previous services here: https://www.twitch.tv/holytrinitychurchpaulton
Every blessing to you all.
Adam
