Hi everyone,
This Sunday is the last Sunday of normal services before I am off on manoeuvres, New Wine from the 25th and France from the 1st of August. We will be back to normal on Sunday 18th of August for services at High Littleton and another christening in Paulton!
Andy will be preaching on the feeding of the 5000 in Paulton this Sunday, and I will be covering David’s desire to build a temple for God in the High Littleton Service. So we will have maximum Biblical input prior to my going away.
We are still taking bookings in Paulton for our ‘Hug a Bear’ picnic. See the poster below for more details.
Also please note that we are going to be changing the pattern of services for High Littlton and Farrington from September so please keep an eye out for updates on that. And we will also be running the deanery wide Alpha course in Holy Trinity Paulton from September as well. I will give you the full details as soon as I have them, but I would encourage everyone who is looking to understand their lives, faith, or re-engage with the Bible, to sign up for this opportunity.
So remember, my family and others from the church will be away camping at New Wine Christian Festival from 25th to the 30th of July. If you would like to join us there on the Sunday to worship together on a big scale (14,000 people) you can get a day ticket here:
Alternatively there will be the Deanery service in St John’s Midsomer Norton on 28th July, so there will be no services in our churches - They have asked that you bring a writing implement with you!
Remember also that morning player, men in shed and the other groups will be off until I am back from my holidays.
If you want to continue tracking with some of the sermon ideas as they develop I have included some more links to useful content that can help to keep us on the same 'wavelength'. This week, a link to Naomi Klein's book 'The Shock Doctrine' on the use of disruption to influence society and identity.

Knit and Natter meet in the back room of Paulton church on the first Wednesday of each month from 2 to 4pm. The next meeting is on Wednesday 7 th August 2024.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join the group, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a cake and have a good natter!
TGIF is on every Friday and Monday from 10am to 11.30am for coffee, cake, playtime and good chatting - you can find the latest details on Facebook here. (Not during the school holidays)
Morning prayer is taking place at 9.30am Wednesday in Paulton and Thursday in High Littleton. It begins with 15 minutes of quiet reflection, followed by Common Worship morning prayer.
The Church of England have updated their Morning Prayer APP. You can now listen to morning prayer from the app. I would encourage you all to take this up as a daily practice, it is a great way to grow a pattern of prayer and learn the rhythm of responses each day.
You can download the app here: https://www.chpublishing.co.uk/apps/daily-prayer

Every blessing to you all.
