Hi everyone,
We continue to build towards celebrating the birth of the church and the coming of the Holy Spirit. This week Jesus begins to point towards what the spirit means for us and how we can be brought to life through our relationship with God.
We had a big weekend in Paulton last week with the plant sale on Saturday - big thanks to everyone who helped with this - and the launch of our new vision and mission on Sunday.
Don't forget 'Dig in' Bible Study next Tuesday (27th) for you to come and ask questions that we can explore together.
If you are interested in joining a group to talk about addressing part of the mission these are the areas of focus:
- To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom. (telling people about God’s love)
- To Welcome, teach, baptise and nurture new believers. (helping people to understand and grow deeper in their faith)
- To respond to human need by loving service. (directly helping those in need, e.g. food banks, community activities, support groups)
- To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation. (campaigning for peace, justice, equality and helping those who affected by these issues)
- To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth. (looking after the environment, caring for nature, protecting animals etc.)
Please take a bit of time to reflect on where your interests and passion may be and email me if you would like to join in a specific area. You can either share what you are already doing, or look for ideas to take up something new.
And we are still building towards Pentecost and I would urge you all to continue praying for the Holy Spirit to be free to move in our churches. You can pray this each day:
Saint Augustine's Prayer:
"Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy,"
See you soon,
Adam

The Church of England have updated their Morning Prayer APP. You can now listen to morning prayer from the app. I would encourage you all to take this up as a daily practice, it is a great way to grow a pattern of prayer and learn the rhythm of responses each day.
You can download the app here: https://www.chpublishing.co.uk/apps/daily-prayer
view the live service and re-watch previous services here: https://www.twitch.tv/holytrinitychurchpaulton
Every blessing to you all.
